MSC Cruises announces largest number of bookings in its history

MSC Cruises has announced that the past 30 days has seen more bookings for cruises than at any other time in its history, suggesting the cruise line, along with other major cruise operators, has turned the corner in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.

According to a press release, MSC Cruises, which is based in Geneva, Switzerland and is one of the largest cruise lines in Europe with the most modern fleet, received bookings totalling 208,262 people.

MSC Divina’s Caribbean itinerary this summer and MSC Lirica’s upcoming cruises through the Mediterranean and Northern Europe were particular favourite of this making bookings in the past month, according to a spokesperson for the cruise line.

The increased bookings coincide with the launch of MSC Cruises’ MedWayOfLife campaign, which provides a snapshot of life onboard an MSC cruise liner.

MSC Cruises is a division of the Italian-Swiss shipping giant MSC (Mediteranean Shipping Company). The cruise division was launched in the 1960s, but the MSC Cruises brand was only established in 1995. Her fleet of 12 ships are some of the most modern in the world.
